Soccer match analysis and predictions

Panathinaikos hosts Sporting Braga in Athens in a second leg match from the Champions League playoffs. We advise you to keep up with us and our soccer match analysis and predictions. Here we go!

The Portuguese side is touching the Champions League group stage after a 2-1 win in the first game. Abel Ruiz and Alvaro Djalo put Braga ahead while Daniel Mancini kept PAO’s chances for the second leg with a very late goal in the 95th minute. The truth is Mancini’s strike could turn to be crucial in the rematch. Now Panathinaikos needs just one goal to send the game into extra-time and two goals to win. But only if they keep a clean sheet, of course.

For the Greek side it’s going to be tricky in the second leg. Sporting Braga will try to use their ability to counter-attack. The Portuguese team have some quick and technical players who can cause some damage. Whenever they have the ball, Braga turn into a very dangerous team.

Panathinaikos will have to control the tempo of the game and avoid any mistakes in defense. Players like Ruben Perez and Filip Djuricic must perform at the highest of their ability in midfield while Andraz Sporar is the target man upfront. The Slovenian striker is someone who knows how to score goals, but his teammates have to create opportunities for him.

On the other hand Sporting Braga rely on Luis Miguel Alonso Pizzi to dictate the play and create chances. The former Benfica man is now 33-years old so he knows how to use his experience. In attack Sporting Braga uses the qualities of Barcelona’s Academy product Abel Ruiz – a player who scored one of the two goals in the first leg.

That’s our soccer match analysis and predictions for the Champions League playoffs game between Panathinaikos and Sporting Braga. Good luck!
