BTTS (Both teams to score) soccer predictions

AEK hosts Royal Antwerp at the OPAP Arena in Athens in a second leg from the Champions League playoffs. Now let’s see what we can tell you about it in our BTTS (Both teams to score) soccer predictions.

The Belgians have a small advantage after a 1-0 win in the first leg. It was the Dutch international Vincent Janssen who scored the winning goal in the first half. The former Tottenham player got an assist from Arthur Vermeeeren and put the ball behind the goalkeeper Giorgos Athanasiadis. You can be sure that Janssen will remain a threat for AEK’s defense in the second leg as well.

There’s a problem for Antwerp’s head coach Mark van Bommel before the rematch. He can’t use the left back Jelle Bataille who was sent off in the first game. It happened after just 50 minutes of playing which stripped the Belgian of an opportunity to increase their advantage.

AEK doesn’t have any other option here – they must look for a way to neutralise Antwerp’s advantage. Matias Almeyda’s boys must be smart, though – they must attack with a thought about protecting their back as well. Steven Zuber will continue to dictate the play from the number 10 position while Pineda and Szymanski will be very important in midfield.

Levi Garcia was supposed to be player to lead the attack, but he got injured in the first leg. It happened in the first half when Garcia was replaced by the Argentine striker Ezequiel Ponce. Most likely Ponce will start in the second leg. Petros Mantalos is also among the players who could get a place in the line-up. The head coach Almeyda has some options on the bench.
